Dr Thong Kah Mean

Dr Thong Kah Mean is currently a Consultant Nephrologist and Physician at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh.

She was awarded International Society of Nephrology & Renal Association (UK) Fellowship in 2012 and completed one-year training at the Sheffield Kidney Institute. She qualified as a Nephrologist after Malaysia Nephrology Board Certification in 2014. She then pursued her advanced nephrology training in Queen Mary Hospital, University of Hong Kong in 2017. Her areas of interest include lupus nephritis, glomerulonephritis, Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) and chronic kidney disease.

In year 2020, she accomplished the Southeast Asia Healthcare Leadership (SEAL) Program, launched by Harvard Medical School Postgraduate Medical Education.

She involves actively in research and has published several papers in ISI-cited journal. She was an invited reviewer for Nephrology journal. She is also an expert panel member of Malaysian Dialysis and Transplant Registry (MDTR) and Malaysian Registry of Renal Biopsy (MRRB).
